Signs your geyser needs attention
Does your hot water appear brown when it comes out the tap, or does your geyser not heat up correctly? Our professional team of plumbers and electricians handle every part of the process, from general maintenance to fitting a brand new geyser.
Drip tray. The geyser sits in a tray, usually plastic or tin. Since June 2001, a drip tray with its own drain pipe has been a requirement – if your installation predates that, it’s worth having a plumber check it.
Valves. Vacuum breakers stop water siphoning out of the geyser and prevent a vacuum forming in the tank. A shut-off valve on the cold water side, and a Pressure Control Valve (PCV), are also standard – the PCV can be mounted up to 10m away from the geyser itself.
T&P safety valve. A vital component, mounted towards the top of the geyser, that should never be tampered with. It needs its own metal (copper or steel, not plastic) vent pipe leading directly outside.

Low-pressure and high-pressure geyser systems use different, non-interchangeable parts. Tell us which type you have when you call, or we can confirm on site.
How urgent is a geyser problem?
A leaking or burst geyser can flood a ceiling fast – treat it as an emergency and call us straight away.
